In my family, we have a few times of year when we celbrate a few people birthdays at once that come close together. March is one of those times because my birthday falls on the 11th, my mom's on the 30th, and then AJ's birthday is April 2nd. This year my sister decided to host the party at her house before my mom and I took AJ to Florida over her "real" birthday. This was AJ's first round of gifts, cake & ice cream, singing Happy Birthday, blowing out candles, and PRESENTS! Wow, did he love it ALL!

You can see how interested he was when the candles were being lit...he watched intently and waited for what would come next.
When my mom and I posed for a picture or 2 with the candles lit, no one could get him to stop looking at the candles! The cake was angelfood with raspberry sherbet layered in the middle, and he really liked it! My mom let him sit on her lap to eat his cake and he never even noticed us put one of his (female) cousin's bibs on him (the bib happens to say "Little Miss Attitude" which I thought was funny.

Here's a video clip of AJ and Kyra eating their cake. I love how she says, "Hi Camera." :)
Did you ever get to eat a piece yourself, mom?
After the cake (of which I had 2 pieces...my sweet tooth is going crazy this time around!) we could hardly keep the kids away from the packages for another minute, so we gave in and started to open the gifts. There seemed to be a lot, since we were celebrating so many birthdays at once, but most of them turned out to be for AJ. It's so hard to just buy one thing for a little kid, isn't it?!

Here is AJ trying to rip open a present while his cousin Karly coached him from the best seat in the house. She always loves to be in the middle of the action, and AJ seemed to enjoy it too! My growing belly also makes a cameo in this shot!
