Anyone living in the Chicagoland area knows that yesterday was RAINY!!! There were showers on and off all day, and then at night some really big thunderstorms rolled through. All day, AJ kept asking me if we could go to the park, so I had to explain to him that we don't go to the park when it's so wet out. Instead we played inside...had a friend over, painted, played trains, etc. all day long!
After AJ's nap, he seemed to "get it". He told me we would not be going to the park since it was raining so much. He said we can go to the park when it's cloudy, but not when it's rainy. "That's right!", i said, impressed that all my explanations had seemed to sink in. So, we decided to sing some rainy-day songs, and here's AJ singing "it's Raining, It's Pouring" and "Rain, Rain, Go Away":
